Lal joins ‘Kurukshethra’

Mohanlal will join the sets of 'Kurukshetra' today. Directed by soldier-turned film maker Major Ravi, the movie has already started canning its shots from the 13th of this month at the difficult terrains of Kashmir.

Another patriotic movie like his earlier ones from Major, this is the first time an Indian movie is being shot at Kargil. The director, who also wrote the screenplay, has got the permission for the shooting on the Kargil peaks from the Ministry of Defence.

Major has at his disposal, a 130 member crew including popular cameraman Lokanathan, who will shot for another 30 days to complete the movie and get it to theatres by the Onam season.

The film according to the major will outline how the Kargil war started, how it ended and what was it for. Mohanlal will appear as Colonel Mahadevan, who is all set to protect his co-patriots like Siddhique, Biju Menon and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Mohanlal does not have a heroine in this movie which will also have a lot of other language artists like Tanya Singh and Nehak Bhatia.

Major Ravi will introduce a new music director, Siddharth, through this film who has already set four songs for the movie.

Produced by Santhosh Damodaran under the banner `Damor Cinema’, the movie would cost around Rs four crores.
